Plan, elevation, section
Three drawings, three questions. Mix them up and the line weight will not save you.
- 1
Plan
A horizontal cut, looking down. You see wall thickness, door swings, and the route through the room. You do not see the facade.
- 2
Elevation
The outside face, viewed straight on, with no perspective. Heights are true. Nothing is cut, so you do not poche a wall.
- 3
Section
A vertical cut. What the knife passes through is filled — poche. What you see beyond the cut is lighter. The ground line is the heaviest line on the sheet.
