People, not decoration

A figure in an architectural sketch is a scale. If their eyes are in the wrong place, they make the building lie.

  1. 1

    Same ground, same eyes

People of the same height, standing on the same level ground, share an eye line. In perspective that eye line is the horizon. In elevation it is simply a horizontal.

  2. 2

    Trees are scale too

A tree that dwarfs a three-story building is a shrub drawn too big, or a building drawn too small. Pick one.

  3. 3

    Notes, not lettering drills

A short note — 'cut', 'glass', 'up' — is part of the drawing. A paragraph is a caption. Keep the hand moving.

Critique

Drill

Add two figures on the same ground. Their eyes share a height. Keep them large enough that the door still makes sense.
